Seminar Overview
As part of the model that the students who are enrolled in the subject Field Trip and Seminars choose from it also includes an Interpersonal Skills Seminar and a Minor Field Trip that will be held inside Mindanao. Normally, the Interpersonal Skills Seminar was held inside the university at the Social Hall, and hosted by University Guidance and Testing Office (UGTO). And as the planning goes by, we decided that to have a lesser payment for the Field Trip and Seminars we decided that we will select a company that is located here only in Davao City. Because Davao City is one of the innovating cities in Mindanao we can select a beautiful and an integrated company.
And we selected the Public Safety and Security Command Center that is located DaangPatnubay, Davao City and it was held last October 1, 2013. This company monitors all the traffic flow and also investigates all the crimes in Davao City.

Interpersonal Skills Seminar

Today I went to a seminar to
Attend the Interpersonal Skills Seminar held at the Social Hall of University of Southeastern Philippines.

What I learned?
I learned that we should have a determination in our self and also you must have to cooperate when you are part of the group to build a successful activities. I learned how to share what is the real me to others and thankful that it happened to my life.

What I liked?
I liked the activities that the UGTO had given to us, like when we formed all the paper clips that each member of the group. I liked it because we shared all the ideas that it is possible to form a better shape.

What I didn’t like?
Overall, our Interpersonal Skills Seminar held at the University Social Hall was fun and nothing that I didn’t like for the activity itself.

Minor Field Trip

Today I went to a seminar to
The Public Safety and Security Command Center located at DaangPatnubay, Davao City.

What I learned?
Unlike the MMDA Command Center facilities, the PSSCC facilities are very improved. Just like the video feedback from MMDA it is quite delayed for seconds while the video feedbacks that are coming from the cameras of PSSCC are real time. The monitors that display all the video feedbacks from the CCTV cameras are located at the second floor of the PSSCC we saw it from the board room of the PSSCC just like the board room in the PLDT the monitors can be seen through the glass walls of the board room. And those monitors are for traffic viewing only, but when the traffic accidents or other violations that results in accidents will be tackled they are being reviewed in the third floor of the PSSCC building which all their facilities are sponsored by IBM Inc. which is the Intelligence Division. The Intelligence Division in PSSCC is new here in Davao City according to the facilitator it was established last June. The Intelligence Division has many video feedbacks that are being projected on the wall, and it is divided into five dual-monitors. In the first monitor the person who is assigned in there, is working in the Unified Radio where all call will be received from there and it will be the one to call from 911, in the second monitor, the person who is watching and monitoring in the video feedbacks is working in the PSSCC, in the third monitor, the person who is watching and monitoring the video feedbacks is working for the PNPA, in the fourth monitor, the person who is watching and monitoring the video feedbacks is working for the 911, and in the fifth monitor, the person who is watching and monitoring in the video feedbacks is working for the TMC.
And even though how fast is the vehicle running, the cameras of the PSSCC can record the plate numbers of those who are violating the rules and regulations of Davao City. They can zoom in more or less 30 feet from the camera to have a clear view of the image that they want to see. As for now, the PSSCC have already installed more the 100 CCTV cameras all over Davao City so that they can keep the peace and order of the city. And they can easily capture criminals and investigate if there will be a crime that has done in the city.

What I liked?
I liked their facilities and all their equipments, it is very automatized and the video feedbacks that the cameras send in their office do not have delays unlike in the MMDA and also the quality of the videos are very clear even if they zoomed it in for 30 feet.

What I didn’t like?
Overall, our company visit at the Public Safety and Security Command Center was very wonderful and nothing in the seminar that I disliked.

APPENDIX

What can I recommend for the improvement of the advance seminar program of USEP?
I recommend for the improvement of the advance seminar program of USEP is that they pick a company here that they can compare from the company that they pick in the national. Just like in our case that we go to the PSSCC here in Davao because we also go to the MMDA in Manila just to compare the differences of the two establishments.

My advice to those who will take their advance seminar program in the near future.
My advice to those who will take their advance seminar program in the near future is that cooperate to your FTS officers so that your advance seminar program will be planned very well. And when you are in the seminar you should listen to the speakers so that your money will not become a waste.
